Over in one of my other blogs, The Ochorific Song o the Day today; the "Song o the Day" was "We Built This City" by Jefferson Starship...
Within that song is the lyric "Knee Deep in the Hoopla" ... and I thought we should talk a bit today about what that means.
Knee deep in the hoopla, sinking in your fight
If you live in my region of the country, hoopla is a common word - I'm not sure if it is elsewhere or not... So if you're abroad or in a region that isn't familiar with this word...
Hoopla
I've always thought of it a bit also as "chaos"... It's extraordinarily easy to become over committed, over extended and overwhelmed...
As mentioned in another post, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 It's Stress Awareness Month and that in Itself Stresses Me Out!, "Stress is and will continue to increase in leaps and bounds as long as the following factors remain in place...
As a result of technology, we receive information, instructions and other things that require our attention at an abso-smurfin'-lutely phenomenally disgusting rate of speed while it STILL takes the same amount of time to do a load of laundry, or go to the grocery, or watch our favorite TV show or take a shower... We have increased our information load, but we are not yet in robotic bodies that allow us to zip and flitter about town for a day of errands, to dos and whatnot at the same rate of speed at which we're receiving the instructions and information of what we're supposed to be doing ...
This causes us to become stressed and feel that there just "aren't enough hours in the day" ... and we are not only correct, but totally to blame."

In that particular post I went on to give a couple of tips for reducing stress ... in THIS post I will share with you David Allen. This isn't the first time I've shared him with you and it won't be the last ... he is a living, breathing genius on time management... He instructs in a way that teaches you not only how to manage your "stuff", but your mind... and that's really what makes it all work...
Have A Grand and Groovy Day!
